How to query a Bitcoin wallet “on your own”:
- If you want to query a Bitcoin wallet, you need a so-called blockchain explorer. This is a tool or website that provides you with transaction data.
- Here are some links for you. For example, use blockchain.com, or btc.com, or blockchair.com – these are all common blockchain explorers that help you view the blockchain.
- On all of these websites you will find a sleek input field at the top of your browser. There you can, for example, enter a Bitcoin address or a transaction ID.
- You can query your own Bitcoin wallet, or someone else’s Bitcoin wallet. Simply enter the data in the search field.
How to view the blockchain when it comes to other cryptocurrencies:
Does my instructions above only work with Bitcoin? Yes and no. Some blockchain explorers offer analysis of several other cryptocurrencies. But with some “rather unknown” coins you might not get very far.
To view the blockchain “as a whole”.we would need a blockchain explorer that includes all of the blockchains on the market Query cryptocurrencies can. The links above specialize in Bitcoin, but also offer more well-known coins such as Ethereum.

Not every coin that is available on the crypto market has its own functioning blockchain explorer. However, you should have no problems viewing and querying the wallets for the following cryptocurrencies:
- Ethereum, Tether (USDT), Binance Coin (BNB),
- Solana (SOL), Ripple (XRP), USD Coin (USDC),
- Avalanche (AVAX), Tron, Dogecoin (DOGE).
What to do if I can’t find a blockchain explorer for my coin?
I’ve given you some links to the more popular blockchain explorers above. These work perfectly for “the big blockchains” like Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum.
Should you have one Query wallet If you want to see a blockchain that refers to a relatively “small cryptocurrency” with little popularity, or want to view a related blockchain, I can give you the following tips.
How to proceed:
- SSearch for your cryptocurrency using Google and the search term “Explorer”.
- Example: Suppose your cryptocurrency is called “Upcoin”. Then simply search “Upcoin Explorer” or “Upcoin Blockchain Explorer” on Google.
- Google will probably be able to guide you unerringly to an explorer prepared for this specific cryptocurrency. There you can view a wallet and query the blockchain, as I described above for Bitcoin (BTC.
What else to pay attention to:
- But be careful: with smaller cryptocurrencies you run the risk of ending up on highly dubious websites! So be careful where you click.
- When in doubt, stick to the more popular websites. Never connect your wallet to any apps and use an up-to-date antivirus program.
- Do not click on any ominous links if you actually just wanted to view a blockchain and query a wallet. These explorer websites sometimes have shady “advertising partners”.
What’s the point of being able to view the blockchain?
Not everyone is very knowledgeable about cryptocurrencies. With the ability to query your own Bitcoin wallet – regardless of an app or crypto exchange – even “newbies” can be sure that their coins are where they should be.
Furthermore, in cases of fraud involving cryptocurrencies, it can be helpful to trace the transaction chain. In some cases, a wallet has been “emptied”, i.e. hacked and compromised through phishing.
Whenever you have a problem with your coins, you shouldn’t just look at the specific app or crypto exchange. Make sure that you can independently view the blockchain and query your wallet – because that is exactly the advantage of this technology.
Can other people also query my Bitcoin wallet?
Basically yes! Because on the Bitcoin Blockchain everyone can see what happened to this or that coin. Nevertheless, no one else knows “just like that” which Bitcoin address belongs to you.
However, if you have published your crypto address or shared it with someone, that person will then have the opportunity to monitor all transactions from your wallet. It is therefore not advisable to let anyone know which address you use to hold which cryptocurrencies.
However, being able to view the blockchain or query a wallet does not mean that we immediately know who owns which address (see: Finding out the wallet owner and identifying the Bitcoin address). Only the transaction data is publicly accessible, but not the identities behind the wallets or behind the Bitcoin addresses.
